この話、ブログのカテゴリを思わず「イギリス人流！？」にしてしまいました。イギリス人流に毒された、もとい、イギリス人流が着々と身に付いて来た、という言い訳三昧。
かれこれ一年ほど前になってしまいますが、ブログ一周年記念企画を思い立った（ここをクリックすると当選者のお名前も出てきます）ものの、
・基本的技術不足 および
・その方面への興味薄弱 および
・解決方法の特定不可能
といった事由により、
グダグダしていたのでありました（この背景についてはここをクリック）。誠に誠に申し訳ないです。

しかし！とうとう発送準備出来ました。
お約束どおり、お一人一枚ずつ、ビートルズ記念切手を貼ってます。これら↑６種類の中のどれかです。
今の時代、音声をCDに録音する、というのは最早、カセットテープに録音する、っていうのと変わらないほど昔の技術なのかもしれないのですが、てインターネットで配信する、というのは物体感が希薄だし、郵便で送る
というアナログな方法も捨てがたいですよね。

夫はお喋りは得意ですが（どういう訳か、本人は否定したがるが、紛れも無い事実である！）、「原稿を朗読して録音する」という行為は全く不慣れな為、何故にそれほどまで？っていうほどの緊張振りが面白かったでございます。
・・・だからトチったりもしておりまして、お聞き苦しいかと存じますけれど、ご辛抱を。

今頃届いても思い当たる節が無く、
「何これ？怪しい！」
って言って即、ゴミ箱行きになったりすると困るんです
約一年前の当選者の方々、月曜に郵便局で料金に満ちるよう切手を貼り足してから発送しますので来週中には到着の筈。受け取ってくださいね♪

尚、録音内容ですが、バラ･マーケットについてのこれを英訳（担当は私）したもの。

The place for Christmas foodstuffs, which I kept in suspense, but
Hedgehog-san saw through!!
It is Borough Market.
★Please bear with a low-level pun; it is not Rose Market, but Borough Market, that is, the market which is in an area called Borough.
Needless for me to make a clumsy attempt at explanation, this market has become famous especially of recent. When we visited Mark, one of my husband's best friends,
He casually mentioned "I sometimes go for lunch to Borough Market," : well, Mark works in the City, which is just across the River Thames.
His remark led to "Then why don't we eat lunch together when visiting Borough Market?"
AND at last, I was able to set foot in this market, which had been unexplored, despite my strong wish of visiting there for as long as one full year.

As expected, the market is all pushing and shoving, i.e. the situation I am most poor at. The moment I come into crowds, I get totally demotivated.
The shutter speed of my camera is slow. Photos can not be taken without waiting some time, when a mass of people come in between the object and the camera, thus, I can not take the photos I want to.... Such a state continues.
★The photos I missed while I was trying were very many; such as a large number of beautiful Christmas decorations, the hustle and bustle at the tills, people standing and devouring tastily, etc. etc.

Let me introduce the scenes I just managed to take photos of,
★Wow... Oh...My God! Monkfish!! They do eat monkfish in Britain, A little unexpected!
★While there ARE Christmas trees being sold all right, the white-painted curly tree branches, which we used for our Christmas Tree, ARE being on sale!
★Every possible variety of tomatoes. Color, Shape, and of course flavours should be literally multifarious!
★All sorts of squashes are being displayed in a row.
★This is the fungi specialist. Many kinds of wild mushrooms I had never seen are being piled high.

Me : I am thinking of buying a duck. Turkey is too much for two of us to eat.
Mark: I have heard that a goose is the trend for this year.
Me : Wow! Goose!!
Mark: Turkey is only the RECENT standard under the influence of the States. In Britain, goose has always been the Christmas traditional bird.
Me : You mean you have always had goose for Christmas?
Mark: Well, what I mean by RECENT is the past 50 years or so. So, we have always been eating turkeys for Christmas. Turkey gets dry and I don't like it much though.
influenced with such conversation, I go around the stalls with the thought "Well, this year, should I go for a goose, and not a duck?!" however, every goose I come across is as huge as a turkey both in size and price, like 70 pound a bird. AND I give up.
In this photo, the bird showing fleetingly in the far right is a goose.

Anyhow, I do detest crowds, while rightfully, I should hunt out for miscellaneous fun foods.
I thus ended up, with much difficulty, after having been able to purchase these four items, namely,
a duck
venison meat
wild mushrooms
white asparagas
Feeling dizzy, I did escape out of the crowd for home at last.

This year's Christmas dinner is, after all, a duck. Probably, I will do the Orange and Honey flavoured roast duck, which I tried out first for last Christmas. I might, however, make a different attempt if I should feel like it.

Today's dinner was, with venison as a main course,
- Venison steak : while it is the main course, the quantity is pretty little.
- Root Veg., roasted
- Broccoli
- Tomato and Celery Salad
- Mushroom and Wakame sea-weed soup

By the way, Mark, one of my husband's best friends, who I ate lunch with, spends 1.5 hours one way for commuting, as his priority is his family's quality of life. He seems absorbed in reading while he commutes. As my husband has been very well taken care of by him for quite a long time, I have decided to give him the English translation of a Japanese novel. I scarcely read a novel. On top of it, not all of Japanese novels are translated into English at all, thus, I have no idea of what I should give him.
I have ended up with giving him Doctor's Wife by Sawako Ariyoshi and Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami (Well, the latter was not available yet, and I issued a voucher!).
What can be a recommendable representative Japanese novel with English translation???
